Photo Prompt Journals: Collaboration with a Stranger

$15.00

When I found myself working alone at the studio during the pandemic, I tried to clean and organize. Thats when I found a box labelled “iris prints” which had been donated to Studio Pause some years ago. In there I found some beautiful prints of photos, made on thick paper.

What do I do with them, I wondered. As usual, I decided to collaborate with a stranger! As I looked at the prints I loved the colors and the subjects. I thought how awesome they would be as writing prompts! I decided to fold the thick paper of the “iris prints” as the box was labelled, and watched the spine crack, revealing the layers under the ink. I pulled out some handmade Indian text paper and sewed them together to be journals, piercing the exposed layers of paper, and listening to the unwaxed linen thread bind them all together.

Most are unique prints so pick one that speaks to you or you think will connect with someone you know, encouraging them to write.
